Prophet Equity Opens Doors For Business

Newly established private equity firm, Prophet Equity LLC, was officially launched this month by Ross Gatlin and team, the company announced on Dec. 14.

Prophet Equity will focus on strategically viable companies, with revenues under $500 million, in special situations, turnarounds, acquisitions, bankruptcies and reorganizations. It will raise its debut fund in early 2008.

Gatlin, an Insight Equity co-founder, started his career specializing as an advisor in bankruptcies, restructurings and distressed situations for an investment bank. He also worked for Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin, Bain & Company, later became a founding principal at The Carlyle Management Group and then a founding partner at Insight Equity.
